Routhier Placement Specialists was the first agency
in Boston founded by a woman and run by a woman.
Established in 1964, by Catherine Routhier, a pioneer
in her own right, in the world of placement. She
was encouraged by the legal community to start an
agency with ethics and integrity. The result was
the birth of a company which has been well rooted
in the business community for nearly forty years.
She used her entrepreneurial skills to create a
service upon which law firms and corporations have
relied and on which they still rely.
Catherine Routhier believed in basic principles
for an agency: ethics, honesty, integrity, talent,
intelligence and sheer hard work.
The new generation has carried on her tradition.
Tom Routhier is an attorney with extensive business
experience. Joy Sweeney joined Routhier after graduating
from college and working for a couple of years in
the Boston Legal Community. She brought her entrepreneurial
insight and instincts to the company. She has worked
to continue the unique and personal vision which
Catherine Routhier courageously began in 1964.
Together, for twenty-five years, Tom Routhier and
Joy Sweeney have brought energy and dedication to
the business of personnel placement and career counseling.
They have maintained and reinvigorated the principles
upon which Routhier Personnel was founded.
We have always believed in setting a standard of
excellence for personnel placement. This standard
is now followed by many other agencies. We defined
the principles of ethics and responsibility for
which other agencies now strive.
The values established by Catherine Routhier are
still practiced today by the management, the recruiters
and the staff of Routhier Placement Specialists.
